Meteora Bikes Q and A

Does the cost of a tour include the bicycle?

Yes, the guided tour price covers using one of our bicycles. There is no reduction in cost for those who choose to bring their bike. We do not offer rentals for any of our bicycles. We strive to provide a seamless experience for all participants, allowing you to focus on the adventure ahead!

What are the benefits of using an electric bicycle?

E-bikes create equal opportunities for all riders. They enable individuals with varying physical abilities to keep up with the faster riders in a group. Those suffering from leg or knee injuries find it easier to navigate uphill terrains. Thanks to the added electric support, older individuals can manage routes their age might otherwise make difficult. You will still get a workout on the e-bike as they operate on a pedelec system. This means you must pedal for the motor to engage, so you’re constantly cycling whether the motor is active.

What accessories come with the bicycle?

The bicycle has several essential accessories to enhance your riding experience. Your purchase includes a snug-fitting helmet for safety, an odometer to track your journey's distance and speed, and water bottles to keep you hydrated on long rides. A lightweight, breathable backpack is also included, perfect for carrying your essentials without adding unnecessary weight. A reflective vest is provided for added visibility during your rides, ensuring you stay safe in low-light conditions. A waterproof raincoat is also included to keep you dry and comfortable in unpredictable weather. While we don't offer saddlebags with the bicycle, rest assured that our sturdy rear rack is compatible with most sizes, so you're encouraged to bring your own for extra storage on your adventures.

How far can electric bicycles go on a single charge?

Electric bicycles usually range about 25 to 70 miles with a full charge, although this can differ. The distance they can cover is influenced by factors such as battery size, the level of pedal assistance, the weight of both the bike and rider and the type of terrain and riding conditions. Weather conditions also play a role in the performance of electric bicycles, with wind and temperature impacting battery life and efficiency.

Do you offer commentary during your tours?

Our bike tour is crafted to take you past all the famous attractions highlighted in the Our Tours. During the ride, we’ll make intentional stops, allowing you to enjoy the views and take beautiful photos. While we provide some valuable comments about the sights you see, please understand that these are brief and intended to enhance your experience rather than provide comprehensive historical detail. If you desire a more in-depth understanding of the history associated with these remarkable sights, we would be happy to arrange for a licensed guide, as required by Greek law at archaeological sites.

Is it necessary for me to pick up my bike before the tour?

There's no need to collect your bike before the tour; we've got that all covered! We'll meet at a convenient central location, where the excitement will begin. Our knowledgeable guide will provide a detailed overview of the day's adventures and allow you time to test your bike, ensuring you feel comfortable and ready. Once you're all set, we'll get started!
